The Medical Care Skill Training Center of Wenzhou People's Hospital was established on November 1, 2014, with a usable area of about 1,800㎡. An investment of more than 10 million yuan has been made to build an intelligent information simulation teaching center that is matchless in southern Zhejiang. The center has perfect management system and state-of-the-art teaching equipment. It is equipped with a total of 20 functional training rooms, over 200 pieces of basic simulation teaching equipment, and integrated simulators with physiologically-driven function. High-end training systems cover virtual endoscopy, virtual ultrasonography, private network interactive teaching, Step-By-Step skill training guidance, and clinical thinking training, etc. There are 8 standard Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) centers, and 20 socially-recruited Standardized Patients (SP) volunteers, which can meet the teaching needs of medical students, resident doctors and healthcare personnel of all specialties at all levels in clinical skills, thinking training and assessment, with a total annual training capacity of around 30,000 person-times.

On September 29, 2015, authorized by American Heart Association (AHA), this skill center was officially established as the first public hospital AHA cardiovascular emergency training center in Wenzhou. The series of courses offered are Heartsaver CPR AED, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Airway Management, and BLS Mentor Training. In addition to the courses related to AHA, the center has independently developed a total of 10 simulation teaching skill training courses with specialty characteristics, in laparoscopy, obstetrics, anesthesia, B-scan, and BPPV diagnosis and treatment.
