In 2011, Wenzhou People's Hospital was approved as one of the first batch of standardized bases for resident doctors in Zhejiang Province. It became one of the first batch of national standardized training bases for resident doctors in 2014, and became the final examination center of clinical practice abilities of provincial standardized training for resident doctors the same year. After more than 10 years of development, residency training construction is currently characterized with perfect organizational structure, complete training system, and standardized management mode. The standardized training for resident doctors has been gradually transitioned from establishing rules and regulations to strengthening its internal construction.

Our residency training base has one synergistic base (Ruian People's Hospital) and two community practice bases (Quxi Subdistrict Health Service Center and Guoxi Subdistrict Health Service Center). Currently, our hospital has 13 professional national-level Western medicine residency training bases: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency Treatment, General Practice (including Assistant General Practice specialties), Neurology, Otolaryngology, Anesthesiology, Ultrasonography, Radiology, Clinical Pathology, and Stomatology.

Our hospital has a strong team of faculty for residency training, with a group of highly-capable teachers, including 34 professors, 13 associate professors, and 21 Master degree supervisors. There are totally 367 residency instructors, of which 76 have full senior titles and 109 have associate senior titles.

Our hospital is rich in teaching resources, with 49 ward demonstration teaching classrooms, 23 public classrooms, 17 departmental (teaching and research offices) offices, and one skill training center with an area of more than 1,800㎡.  Based on an information management platform, the residency training of our hospital owns multiple databases of medical journal resources, adopts teaching management system software and the residency training examination question databases of Wenzhou People's Hospital.
