Wenzhou People's Hospital became Third Clinical College of Wenzhou Medical College in 2008, and was officially established as Third Affiliated Hospital of Shanghai University in June 2020. It serves as the teaching hospital of Hangzhou Normal University Medical Department, Hangzhou Medical College, and Lishui College, being responsible for off-campus internship theoretical teaching on probation, clinical probation and internship guidance for trainees, and skill training, etc. Annually, the hospital receives more than 400 off-campus probationers, trainees and overseas students, covering over 20 specialties, such as clinical medicine, medical laboratory science, public health management and so on.

Teaching faculty, facilities and equipment, and teaching and living conditions all meet Ministry of Education’s requirements for teaching hospitals and internship hospitals. Louqiao Hospital area has nearly 1,800㎡ of student living area, about 200㎡of two multimedia classrooms, and about 1,800㎡ of skill training center. Teaching facilities and equipment are worth close to 10 million yuan. All the pedagogic research departments (teaching and research groups) are equipped with demonstration teaching classrooms and multimedia teaching facilities to meet the needs of clinical teaching.   

Clinical College has improved the teaching management system, inclusive of teaching planning, fund input and guarantee system, which are effectively implemented and put into practice. Fund input is in place for teaching equipment and facilities, and teaching management is standardized. Teaching framework is complete, with 17 pedagogic research departments and 45 teaching and research groups. Based on the strong teaching faculty, Clinical College has 2,218 professional health technicians, including 344 with senior titles, 732 with intermediate titles, 47 part-time faculty members of Wenzhou Medical University, and 5 part-time faculty members of Hangzhou Normal University.

The teaching members of Clinical College are actively involved in declaration and approval of educational reform topics of medical colleges and schools, with many topics approved and finalized every year. They also take an active part in various teaching competitions held by medical colleges and schools. In recent years, they have been awarded the Special Prize of the 11th and 12th Teaching Competition for Young Teachers and the Best Teaching Design Prize of Wenzhou Medical University, the First Prize of the "Internet Plus" Teaching Design (Teaching Plan) Competition in the series of "Igniting Classrooms” Teaching Innovation Competitions, the Third Prize of the 5th and 6th English Teaching Competitions of Wenzhou Medical University, as well as many prizes of medical competitions for medical students at Wenzhou Medical University.
