Founded in the 1980s, Emergency Medicine Department has now become the forward position of our hospital to rescue patients with acute and critical illnesses and respond to public health emergencies. In the meantime, it is an integrated clinical department that shoulders the mission of teaching, training and scientific research. 

At present, Emergency Medicine Department is a key discipline of Wenzhou, a standardized clinical training base for emergency resident doctors (national level), a cardiovascular emergency training center of American Heart Association, a member unit of Animal Injury Rescue Branch of China Medical Rescue Association, a base for Air Emergency Network of Zhejiang Province, a member unit of Poisoning Emergency Specialty Alliance of Zhejiang Province, a base for rescue and treatment of occupational diseases of Wenzhou, an animal injury rescue center of Wenzhou, a provincial youth civilized model (five-star), Wenzhou "Workers' Vanguard", and Wenzhou "Advanced Staff Home". Emergency Medicine Department of our hospital has two hospitals, Xinhe Hospital Area and Louqiao Hospital Area, with an area of more than 7,000㎡. Louqiao Hospital Area has an area of nearly 6,000㎡ for emergency treatment, with advanced and complete equipment, and equipped with helicopter parking apron. The annual emergency care volume is more than 150,000 person-times.

Medical services include: treatment of emergency and severe diseases in internal medicine, surgery, gynaecology and obstetrics, paediatrics, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology, stomatology, as well as trauma, stroke, chest pain, dangerous upper gastrointestinal haemorrhage, Cardiac Pulmonary Cerebral Resuscitation (CPCR), poisoning. Additionally, Emergency Medicine Department specializes in treating a variety of animal wounds, snakebites, insect injuries, and early plastic and cosmetic restorations for traumatic injuries. Furthermore, it is also the only emergency medicine department in Wenzhou that can independently carry out ECMO technology, giving more efficient, timely treatment to patients with acute and critical diseases.
