In this warm winter, Wenzhou Third Clinical College of Wenzhou Medical University welcomed a new group of outstanding students, who are 14 Indian and Burmese international students from International Education College of Wenzhou Medical University. 

On December 19, internship training program for MBBS international students of Wenzhou Medical University in the 2022-2023 academic year was organized in Meeting Room 3 on the 19th floor of Louqiao Hospital Area. Vice President Chen Jie, Deputy Director Zheng Ningning, Zheng Ziluolao of Scientific Education Department, and teachers from Departments of Internal Medicine and Surgery, gave the international students a unique "first internship lecture". In the opening message to the students, Vice President Chen Jie briefed them on the general situation of the hospital and extended warm welcome to their arrival, and mentioned that she was glad that the students could choose to spend their internship to get further practical experience in Wenzhou People's Hospital.

Afterwards, she noted that the long history, excellent training team and rich teaching experience of Wenzhou People's Hospital can contribute to students’ normal implementation of learning tasks. Finally, Vice President Chen Jie also wished the international students to live up to her expectations, hoping that all of them could fully feel the hospital's benevolent culture during the internship and would learn something useful in the new semester.

Afterwards, on behalf of the clinical training team, Jin Pengcheng from Neurosurgery Department, Xu Zhihui from Cardio-thoracic Surgery Department, Miao Feilong from Urinary Surgery Department, and Lin Xiaofei from Respiratory Medicine Department, welcomed the international students and hoped that they could acquire more useful medical knowledge from practice during one-year period.

Then, Deputy Director Zheng Ningning of Scientific Education Department, introduced the teaching situation of the hospital and the study tasks of this semester to the students. During the introduction, the international students were encouraged to communicate with Scientific Education Department as much as possible for any problems that might arise.

Finally, the international students expressed their anticipation and hope for the internship in the new academic year, and hoped that they would be able to learn more knowledge that could not be found in books through the clinical practice.

This internship education program gave the international students a general idea of Wenzhou People's Hospital, a deep understanding of the study plans for the next few months, as well as a full understanding of the relevant rules and regulations. Even though they come from different countries and have different cultural backgrounds, we still hope that they can make steady progress in a down-to-earth manner.
